I should be ashamed. Deeply! While I wanted to post an update about my life every at least two weeks, I didn’t have the chance to do it since November 2009. Every two weeks or four months… what’s the difference, right?
Tomorrow it’s D-Day… I’m leaving Belgium for an internship at Studio 24 in Cambridge. At 11:30 my train to London departs in Brussels, where I can rather quickly catch my next one. Cambridge isn’t unknown territory anymore. I went to visit my workplace four weeks ago to meet my collegues. It all looked nice and cosy, so I will be glad to finally take place at my desk. Yes, I got a real desk!
Yesterday, my landlord confirmed my room. Landlady would be more suitable, but in times like these where emancipation and equality is more common than rare, I suppose I can’t say that anymore. The room is not that far from Studio 24, a ten minute walk. I’ll share a flat with two other students, a woman from Taiwan and a man from Italy.
In meanwhile, my room in Oostende is getting more empty every minute. ‘Cause we’re having this give-away marathon, my room was stuffed with boxes, crates and parcels. Yesterday I sent out everything I could to the known winners. The other boxes were sent to my collegue Tom, who is finishing this project for me. Also my aquarium disappeared. It went to my brother, who’s taking care of my cool fishes while I’m away.
Well, I’m off. Tomorrow I’m in England, and Monday it’s my first day of work.
Cheers!
